The RBC Youth Empowerment Program focuses on personal growth and academic support in all core subjects. The program seeks to
help students become independent learners, improve grades, build social skills, develop confidence, and promotes the importance of
post-secondary education. The program encourages students to believe in themselves and their future goals and gives them an
opportunity to meet friends and build a sense of belonging in a safe and inclusive environment.
This program runs after school at John G. Diefenbaker High School from Monday to Friday, and sessions are 2 hours long.
Through this program, we seek to help students:
- Increase their grades
- Practice English language skills
- Improve reading and writing skills
- Develop leadership skills
- Explore Canadian culture
- Tour post-secondary campuses
- Win scholarships
- Build friendships
The RBC Youth Empowerment Program offers a safe space for immigrant youth to achieve academic goals, make new friends, and build a sense of belonging.
