Multicultural Newcomer Fair is an annual family event presented by the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth. The event will be held on November 15, 2019 (Friday) from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Bishop Grandin High School, 111 Haddon Road SW.

Newcomer families will have a chance to celebrate diversity in Calgary, meet new friends, learn about many community services and resources, as well as job opportunities, and hear inspiring stories from successful immigrants.

Enjoy family activities, puppet show—W.P. Puppet Theatre, Jody the Magician, music and dance from various cultural performers, have fun in kid’s corner and teen’s zone.

 

Do not miss free household and clothing items that will be given away during the event.

Making Changes Association. Making Changes has welcomed women in transition for over 30 years, helping them overcome barriers by providing resources that give women confidence as they establish themselves in their communities, among their peers, neighbours, and a new life.

Calgary Public Library (Southwood Library branch). Provides Calgarians with free services for all, from babies and toddlers to adults and seniors — and everyone in between.

Centre for Sexuality. Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized, community-based organization delivering programs and services that work to normalize sexuality and sexual health across the lifespan. We have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality and consent for more than 40 years in the Calgary community.

English Testing Canada (ETC). IELTS test centre with locations across Canada. Take your IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training with them.

City of Calgary Recreations. Become more active and creative by taking part in our programs and classes.

FSCD – Family Support for Children with Disabilities. The FSCD program works with eligible families to provide support and services based on each child and family’s needs.

Aspen Family Services. From helping community members find and maintain stable housing to keeping children and families safe, we create the conditions for people to make the positive, lasting changes they wish to see in their lives, families and communities.

Directions for Immigrants. Directions for Immigrants is a no-cost career service centre that helps internationally educated professionals secure professional employment and gain accreditation. We work with professionals in any occupation in any industry.

Windmill Micro Lending (formerly Immigrant Access Fund). Windmill Microlending is a registered charity serving newcomers since 2005. We offer microloans to help skilled immigrants and refugees continue their careers in Canada. Funded by the public and private sector, Windmill is Canada’s largest and most successful micro-lending program for immigrants and refugees.

The University of Calgary. UCalgary offers students a high-quality educational experience that prepares them for success in life, as well as research that addresses society’s most persistent challenges. Our creation and transfer of knowledge contributes every day to our country’s global competitive advantage and makes the world a better place.

Money Mentors. We help Albertans get out of debt, manage their money, and plan for retirement. We promote financial health throughout the province and invest in Alberta’s youth. Through financial literacy presentations, we provide educational resources to schools and help prepare students for the future.

Npower Canada. NPower Canada provides youth with training, job placement services and ongoing support to succeed in the workplace.

AHS – East Calgary Health Centre. Alberta Health Services (AHS) is Canada’s first and largest provincewide, fully-integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to the more than 4.3 million people living in Alberta, as well as to some residents of Saskatchewan, B.C. and the Northwest Territories.

Empower Me. The Empower Me program helps families in diverse communities save energy, save money and increase the comfort and safety of their homes.

Kara Program – CSSD. The Kara Life program supports, guides, and educates pregnant and parenting female and male students and their families. It recognizes the dignity of motherhood/fatherhood and the worth of the individual student.

Antyx – Youth Art. Antyx is a community arts company that uses the arts and community development processes to create opportunities for youth to become more engaged in their community and experience increased community connection.
